The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site website re-development was begun in 2006. The project was specified and tendered by The Jurassic Coast Team with representation from all of the partner organisations and in Spring 2006 a consortium of AB Multimedia Ltd and altcom Ltd submitted the winning bid. AB Multimedia, an Exeter based design company with substantial tourism experience, provided the graphic design input and altcom, who are specialists in content management website development, provided software development, training and hosting. The website uses a content management system (CMS) which allows Jurassic Coast Team members to update and manage the content, menus, images and downloads via a basic web browser and without any knowledge of web coding. The site went live in December 2006.
