Julia's main area of work concentrates on Aims 6 and 7 of the Management Plan being 'To enable visitors to the Site and its setting to enjoy a welcoming experience and high quality facilities' and 'To raise public awareness of the Site, its Outstanding Universal Value, and the values of World Heritage, locally to globally.' She also works with businesses helping to maximise opportunities for training and promotion, encouraging good working relationships based on shared ethics appropriate for a World Heritage Site.
Julia has worked in local government - for Bournemouth Borough Council - over the last 9 years covering a variety of roles: as the PFI Co-ordinator for a major new central library development; for the Dorset and New Forest Tourism Partnership Manager; and then as Development Officer for Information, Culture & Community Learning. Prior to this she studied Heritage Conservation BSc Hons at Bournemouth University, following eight years working in the travel industry.
She is now in her 5th year with the Jurassic Coast Team, and very much enjoys her marketing and communications role including the continued success of this website which she manages.
Out of work Julia enjoys doing voluntary work for a local charity and taking every opportunity that comes along to travel to new and exciting places!
