Course :
In this course we will explore the concepts and ideas behind World Heritage and discover the key elements that demonstrate the Outstanding Universal Value of the Jurassic Coast. The course will be led by experts from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site management team.
Lyme Regis is a small town with a big name. Located in the centre of the Jurassic Coast, England's only natural World Heritage Site, the Town is famous for its geology, fossils and unparalleled role in the birth of the earth sciences. Building on this legacy, from 2012 Lyme Regis will become the venue for a Jurassic Coast Studies Centre which will team leading scientists from the Natural History Museum with the experience of the Field Studies Council and Lyme Regis Development Trust. Leading up to the Centre's launch the partners are working together to offer a new range of natural science courses during February and March 2010 and 2011. Based in Victoria House you will have access to spacious and comfortable facilities in the heart of Lyme Regis, and only a short walk from the beach and historic harbour Cobb.
Student places will be limited on this innovative Natural History Museum course programme...so we recommend booking early!
