Lulworth Cove

Walk of about 2.5 hours, 2 miles (3.2km) with some steep slopes and approx 100 steps into Fossil Forest.  The walk focuses on the formation of landscape around Lulworth Cove including caves and arches at Stair Hole, Lulworth Crumple and Lulworth Cove.

We will then walk to the Ranges to visit the Fossil Forest, taking in the Broken Beds, fossil soil deposits, tufa and the ripple marks of an ancient sea floor. Returning over Bindon Hill, with a chance to look at the Iron Age ramparts and see the impacts of farming and scrub management on the chalk downland
