Rock Around the Coast - Ferrybridge to Abbotsbury Walk

Event :

This series of walks offers an exceptional opportunity to really learn about the Jurassic Coast and the people that work to preserve and promote this amazing World Heritage Site.

Chesil bank is one of the finest examples of a natural barrier beach in Europe. The Fleet Lagoon that lies behind the shingle bank is a nationally important wildlife reserve and has a unique landscape seen nowhere else on the Jurassic Coast. At Abbotsbury there will be a chance to discover some protected meadowland including, if there is time, a visit to the Swannery.

Leader: Don Moxam, Chesil Bank and Fleet Nature Reserve Warden

Return bus services: X53 connecting to No.1 in Weymouth

The walks in this series can be physically demanding in places, often covering uneven terrain and steep hills. Sturdy footwear should be worn.
