New Jurassic Coast Museum Exhibitions

Over the last few months David Tucker, County Museums Adviser and Richard Edmonds Jurassic Coast Earth Science Manager have been working on a series of small exhibitions in several of the museums along the Jurassic Coast.

Since joining the team I have very quickly come to realise how hard they all work and how excited they all are about doing the jobs they do. I still have to pinch my self occasionally and am enjoying greatly all the challenges, new experiences and opportunities that my new job has thrown up so far, and I only started eight weeks ago!

Raising the offer for overseas visitors

We are currently working in partnership with the Regional Language Network South West (RLN SW) and with language assistants and students from Sir John Colfox School, Bridport, to improve the offer for overseas visitors to the Jurassic Coast.

Jurassic Coast Arts Programme at the Fossil Festival

In the first year of its presence at the Fossil Festival, the Jurassic Coast Arts Programme has two objectives.  The first is to support the creative activity that takes place at the event, and the second is to give a platform for all the other related creative activity that is taking place up and down the length of the World Heritage Site around the same time.

The Lost World 'found' at Dorset Libraries

Since the Natural History Museum Ichthyosaur Travelling Exhibition, libraries across Dorset have been looking for more innovative ways to engage with the Jurassic Coast and a fantastic opportunity came up when Dorset Libraries decided to celebrate The Lost World Read 2009.
