There are many Heritage centres along the Jurassic Coast that can offer school groups enriching learning experiences in the outdoors. Schools can choose to hire ranger guided educational programmes or conduct independant fieldwork depending on their requirements.
The Jurassic Coast is committed to supporting teachers in developing their knowledge and experience of teaching coastal geography, World Heritage and earth science in the classroom and field. Training is offered via INSET sessions or workshops at national conferences.
The Jurassic Coast Schools Display is available to hire free of charge for schools in Dorset and Devon. Contact your county Schools Library Service to help you bring the coast to your classroom (small delivery charge applies).
Help your school to be part of an international network of over 8000 schools, colleges and universities that help children and young people learn about the missions of UNESCO, including World Heritage.
This UNESCO project aims to encourage and enable children and young people to participate in World Heritage conservation. The Jurassic Coast is pleased to coordinate the UK World Heritage in Young Hands project on behalf of the UK UNESCO Associated Schools Network.
