Discover remarkable remains, find out about fossil folklore and learn more about predators of the past. Journey back in time 185 million years with fossil hunters from across the UK at the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival 2005, Lyme Regis Fossil Festival, Friday 8 - Saturday 9 April, 10.00-17.00.

Throughout the two-day Festival, children, young adults, students and amateur palaeontologists will be able to join fossil hunts, art classes, exhibitions, sand sculptures, walks and evening talks to discover the secrets held by fossils. They will also meet world-class fossil experts, from the Natural History Museum, to learn more about this fascinating subject.

People and children of all ages are encouraged to bring along their favourite fossil finds and discover how Natural History Museum experts can identify each one, its age and how it was formed at the Fossil Roadshow.

Lyme Regis is one of the finest areas of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and offers a truly unique geological landscape to explore. It is famed for the early development of science with is links with the Reverend William Buckland and Mary Anning, both of whom feature in exhibitions, displays and activities throughout the Festival.
