It is the first visitor information centre in Dorset to be accredited by the Green Tourism Business Scheme, thanks to the efforts of all the staff at the Centre.

Centre Manager, Holly Lagden: "It was an enjoyable and worthwhile project and we are pleased that there were no significant extra costs involved.  In fact, future savings are now forecast.  If any other business in Dorset would like advice we would be happy to help".

The Centre formed a ‘Green Team' of six part-time staff who were pleased to find that their interests in the environment, nature and community projects could benefit the scheme.

The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the leading sustainable tourism accreditation in the UK. The scheme provides practical environmental measures to enable businesses to reduce their energy and water consumption and increase their marketing potential to visitors with an ever-growing environmental conscience.
