New jobs created by award winning businesses in Dorset
The award winning Hive Beach Café is bucking the national trend by creating five new jobs across its businesses in both kitchen and front of house.
The recent news headlines create a dismal picture of recession with little optimism. The overall jobless total of 2.69million is at a 17-year high. Youth unemployment also broke records rising with more than one in five of those between the age of 16 and 24 are unemployed, hitting a total of 1.04million.
Café owner Steve Attrill says "We're really pleased to be able to offer some positive news for local employment. We have continued to grow over the past 3-4 years, despite the recession, and believe in preparing for the good times ahead."
Graham Wiffen, Business Development Manager adds, "We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible staff who are willing to learn and go that extra mile. We will fully back the right candidates with on the job training, career development and a competitive package. "
Despite the bleak outlook, the Hive Beach Café continues its success and has expanded its seating area with a new awning, now offering indoor seating for over 120 customers. A real plus in the ever changeable British weather. Its sister café, the newly acquired Watch House Café in West Bay, is currently undergoing complete refurbishment and will open at the end of March.
The Hive has established itself as one of the UK's leading Beach Cafés regularly winning both local and National wards, recently reaching the finals of the Coast Magazine Award 2012 for the Best Beach Café, a title it also won back in 2010. Its focus on quality produce, locally sourced, has cemented its position and now attracts the best staff, who want to work for such a successful company.
