Jurassic Coast businesses can be proud of themselves. At the recent Open 4 Business World Class Business Awards three of the nine award winners also belong to the Jurassic Coast Quality Business Scheme.

So, in addition to having Jurassic Coast Quality Business status - a valuable quality mark - the three winners can also claim their place as a ‘World Class Business' as judged by this year's Open 4 Business industry judging panel.

‘This year's Open 4 Business had nine award categories open to all industry sectors. For three of these categories to be won by a Jurassic Coast Quality Business is remarkable. It demonstrates a real commitment to high standards of professionalism and quality among the scheme members' commented Debra Horlock from Dorset New Forest Tourism Partnership who manage and promote the Scheme in Dorset and East Devon.

Graham Wiffen of the Hive Beach Café, winners of the Jurassic Coast Business Award sponsored by Getaway Digital believes education plays a major part in their success. ‘We use the training provided by the Tourism Partnership and the Jurassic Coast Quality Business Scheme to improve awareness among staff and customers. The Jurassic Coast is key to us. We want to know it, look after it and share in the benefits that come from it'.

Currently the Jurassic Coast Quality Business Scheme has 100 members from tourism related enterprises throughout Dorset and East Devon. It aims to help its members meet expectations, realise the potential and share the responsibility for the Jurassic Coast England's first and only natural World Heritage Site.
