A roadshow of free workshops offering advice on tackling energy and water bills is coming to 3 venues around Dorset - following previous ones held elsewhere in the South West.
With temperatures falling and utility prices at a record high, bills are taking hard-won sales and squeezing profits. Government incentives like the Feed in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive provide an opportunity to save through generating your own energy and heat but the process can often seem daunting.
Three bite-sized workshops are taking place - all lasting no more than one hour to keep the time that anyone has to leave their business to a minimum:
Tues 17 January
Green House Hotel, Bournemouth 10:30 - 11:30
Heights Hotel, Portland 14:00 - 15:00
Weds 18 January
The Elms, Charmouth 10:30 - 11:30
The workshops which have
received an average rating of over 80% from those who have attended those held
to date features priorities for:
- Cutting Energy & Water Bills
- Switching Energy Providers
- Working out whether Renewable Energy is for you
Places are free of charge, but restricted to 20 per workshop, to maximise the opportunities for participation, so early booking is recommended by visiting:
Neil Warren, an Associate with Sustainability South West, who is organising the workshops explains "The workshops have proved really popular. We've had a real cross-section attending, from those looking to get started on cutting their bills to those looking to take advantage of the incentives for renewable energy and wanting to know how to make the right choices."
Businesses in North Dorset may find the following workshop venue more convenient:
Weds 18 January
Mill on the Brue, Bruton 14:00 - 15:00
