A
new leaflet looking at various car-free ways to explore the Jurassic Coast has
been released and is now available from Tourist Information and Visitor Centres
throughout Dorset and East Devon - just ask for the ‘Jurassic Coast, explore
without your car' leaflet.
Around 12-15 million people visit the Jurassic Coast every year and with sustainability a major concern, the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Team have produced this new leaflet to help people explore the Jurassic Coast by travelling by bus, taking a boat trip, taking the train, going by bike or walking along the South West Coast Path National Trail.
There are lots of routes you can take between Exmouth and Studland Bay, which offer a number of combinations of bus, boat, train, bike and footpath. The leaflet suggests a range of itineraries you might like to follow but of course the idea is, that you can mix and match your own, as you discover the joys and delights of ‘exploring without your car'.
By using more sustainable ways of travelling around the Jurassic Coast, you will be helping to reduce road congestion and create a better environment for visitors and locals alike.
Not
only is leaving your car at home a more rewarding way of visiting the Jurassic
Coast, it's a much healthier way too, remember - tread softly, breathe deeply, its all part of the Jurassic Coast
experience.
